Habitat : South and South Western India. Description- Aloe vera is a species of succulent plants that belong to the lily family, Liliaceae. There are around 250 species of Aloe vera plants world over. Believed to have originated in Northern Africa, the Canary islands and Cape Verde, Aloe vera grows in arid climates and is widely found in Africa, India and other arid areas. Sometimes referred to as medicinal aloe, it is widely recognized as a medicinal herb that is useful in treatment of wounds and burns, diabetes as well as elevated blood lipids in humans.
