Following are the synonyms for roop or symptoms in ayurveda:

• Sansthan
• Vainjan
• Linga
• Lakshan
• Chinham
• Akruti.

Sign and symptoms developed by the completion of pathology leading to disease which is indicative of the disease is called the roopa (indicative sign and symptoms) of the disease.

Importance of the roopa

• Diagnosis
