Maharishi Ayurveda provides perfect
knowledge for prevention, rejuvenation, and
cure of diseases. Wherever there
is perfection, there is a deep research about the underlying substances and
principles. Ayurveda too has studied all the materials in this universe in
order to establish relationships among them for prescribing faultless system
for holistic health. This knowledge is known as Padarth Vidnyan or Padartha
Vigyana meaning the science of raw materials. Ayurveda identifies seven
categories of Padarth Vidnyan-
Dravya or substance;
Guna or quality;
Karma
or deeds;
Pramana or evidence; Samanya or similarity;
Samavaya or
inseparable; and
Vishesh or pecularity. Each of these categories have been
studied deeply to be further subdivided for bringing better understanding
about ayurveda. For example, gunas are the 3 fundamental qualities- sattva,
rajas, and tamas- found everywhere and known as 3 guna ayurveda. The
following sections explain all the facets of Padarth Vidnyan.
